Improved service and photography that you can cherish forever

Quality photography products for Seattle area photographypinimage

You may have heard that things are changing at Tracie Howe Photography. I am so excited to introduce a higher level of service to all of my Seattle area photography clients and so far people are loving it! It involves my newest proofing system and cool new products, all meant to provide a better experience for you!

How it works

It’s easy. Once your photos are ready for viewing, I come to your home for a viewing session. We sort through your favorites, figure out what prints, products, or digital files you want, and even see what specific photos will look like ON your wall (I have a super awesome iPad app that makes this possible!) You complete your order right then and there. From then on, you just sit back and wait for all of the wonderful things to arrive.

No more time out of your busy schedule

In fact, this should take less time than it would with the old way, unless you’re a super fast decision maker! The idea is that you set aside a little time and get it over with. No more back and forth emails. No more “I’ll get to this tonight” and then putting it off. Plus, it’s fun! You can invite your whole family if you like. Or maybe don’t tell anyone if you’re thinking of gifts for them.

              It’s a big deal

This is a viewing of your photos for the first time, the way they should look. So often before, my   clients would view their photos on an uncalibrated computer screen, not able to see them as they were intended to look, because the color and contrast would be off. They would then take the photos to be printed at a local drug store and get results that are equally unimpressive. The problem is, they didn’t know what they were missing.

When you see your photos as I have intended them to look, then you will have a better understanding of what you are investing in. Not only that, but I want you to see the difference between my high quality, archival prints (100 years+) and the ones you can get from any commercial printer. I encourage everyone to complete the process when hiring a professional. What’s the point of spending hard earned money on a professional photographer if you are going to take home an unprofessional print?

So, what if you don’t want any prints? That is totally fine and your choice! Digital files are still available for purchase. I only encourage prints, because I’ve had too many people come back to me regretting that they never did anything with their files. The files just sat on a hard drive and no one ever got around to looking at them again or getting them printed at all.

Real family keepsakes

I strongly believe that we photographers are working to preserve your memories. Hard drives go bad. Thousands and thousands of digital photos over the years tend to overwhelm and diminish the special moments, whether captured professionally or not. People won’t flip through a computer’s folder looking at photos like they will flip through an album on a coffee table. I don’t know about you, but the Polaroids from my childhood are far more precious to me than any digital photo I’ve ever had on my computer. If a select few were printed well, then they could be passed on as keepsakes for my family. Much more meaningful as tangible heirlooms.

   Cool new stuff!

With the launch of this new system, I have also added a few new products. Quality, archival products that will last for years and can be passed down through the family. In addition to books, canvases, and standouts, now I also have heirloom boxes to collect your favorite prints, a sleek mini book-like folio, and pop-out ornament holiday cards. I’m super excited about showing off my new products in person, and I can’t wait for my next viewing session with you!

Tiffany and Keith’s wedding was an awesome day spent with friends. When approaching me about being their photographer, they were thoughtful enough to ask me if I preferred to be a guest instead. I really appreciated that question, because I don’t always want to photograph weddings for my friends and family. But, I knew their wedding would fit my style well and I was happy to do it, so they hired me and the rest is history.

The Fairwood Golf and Country Club in Renton was Tiffany and Keith’s wedding venue. For them it was a place that held special meaning. For me it was my first opportunity to drive around a golf cart! Too much fun! But seriously, it’s a beautiful venue and I’m glad that we could make use to of those golf carts to get Keith and Tiffany around for some of their photos. They’re a gorgeous couple, aren’t they?

The day was filled with laughter, games, and dancing. Lots of dancing! These guys know how to throw a good party!

Congratulations!! Love you guys!

Now, be sure to read what Tiffany and Keith have to say about each other and their wedding following the photos!

Here is their wedding story in their own words:

  • Tell the one thing you love most about each other.

Tiffany: “He’s loyal.”

Keith: “She’s hot and pretty funny.” 🙂

  • If you feel comfortable, share something silly or quirky that the other person does.

Tiffany: “He paces, walks around in circles and talks to himself when he needs to brainstorm.”

Keith: “She’s terrifying when she gets angry, but she’s the sweetest person when she’s not.”

  • Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you’re looking forward to on your wedding day?

Tiffany: “Seeing friends and family coming together to celebrate with us.”

Keith: “Not having to wear a leg brace for the wedding day and cupcakes.”

  • Besides the honeymoon, what’s the one thing you’re looking forward to when the wedding is over?

Tiffany: “My sister’s wedding. She’s getting married in Venice, Italy. Something I get to check off my bucket list.”

Keith: “Getting out of debt since the wedding is paid off. Yay…”

  • What’s your favorite wedding trend right now?

Tiffany: “I loved the mismatched centerpieces. They worked out beautifully.”

  • What inspired your décor or theme?

Tiffany: “Originally my colors were supposed to be blue and green, our favorite colors. But instead I chose blue (Keith’s favorite color) and yellow (I wanted a pop of color). To my surprise they worked!”

  • Please share anything else of your wedding story that you would like to.

Tiffany & Keith: Our favorite part (minus getting married) was seeing our mothers having a good time. It makes me happy knowing that our families get along so well.

Christina and Evan got married at Seattle’s UW campus this Summer, with a lovely ceremony at the picturesque Sylvan Grove Theater and a fun reception at Mary Gates Hall. These two were fun to work with from the start. Evan is super laid back and Christina is delightfully cheerful. The combination makes for an awesome couple to work with and I was honored to photograph their special day!

Make sure you read what Christina and Evan have to say about their own relationship and wedding below the photos!

  • Besides the honeymoon, what’s the one thing you’re looking forward to when the wedding is over?

  • What’s your favorite wedding trend right now?

Christina: “Simple and unique with tiny personal touches.”

Taking a break from the wedding madness of this Summer… how about a family session?

Since I started offering Seattle vacation photography sessions earlier this year, I have been pleased with the positive responses I’ve gotten from visitors to Seattle. Joanne was savvy enough to contact me several months in advance to reserve a summer date for her family photo vacation session. Weddings take up much of my time in the summer months (hence the quantity of engagement posts… wedding posts are coming!), so it’s always a good idea to plan ahead.

Joanne and her family were having a small reunion of sorts with her son and daughter-in-law who recently moved to Issaquah. They were staying in a vacation rental in Magnolia, so what better place to do the vacation photo shoot than at Discovery Park! One of my favorite places in all of Seattle, and it’s already on the list of shoot locations for my vacation family photography sessions.

Seattle vacation family photographypinimageSeattle vacation photographypinimageSeattle vacation photographypinimageSeattle vacation photographypinimage

Joanne was delightful in our communications beforehand and it was a pleasure to meet her and her lovely family in person. We used our time wisely, considering the size of their family, and made it to several photo spots in Discovery Park. My favorite of which is the field of purple flowers, something I’ve never seen before in my countless visits to the park!

I really love these family vacation photography sessions! I get to meet people from different areas of the country or world, so there is always something interesting to talk about. I can show off my city during the shoot, or at least recommend things to do and places to see. It’s a fun way to absorb a little bit of that traveling energy that I so love!

Check out this page for more information on vacation photo sessions in Seattle!
