My annual Valentine boudoir mini sessions are back again this year just in time for Valentine’s day!
Each year in Seattle I gather a group of ladies for a series of fun photo shoots with a boudoir (or Glamour) style based on their comfort level. On this special occasion, you can get gussied up for a sweet, sexy photo shoot and give a unique Valentine’s gift that will be treasured for many years.
Keep in mind that I don’t do this often, so this is most likely your last chance for a while. Yours would be one in a series of back to back 30 minute photo sessions with makeup included in the price. Short and sweet so that I can do several in one day, which means less cost for you! That’s the essence of a mini session. However, if 5 digital files doesn’t satisfy you, I include ordering sessions to choose your favorites and pick any prints or products that you might want. I mean, it would be nice to give something tangible, right? See some of the sample items at the end of this post.
If you are shy or modest or self-conscious, please don’t hesitate! Everyone has these fears, but every year I have satisfied clients that never thought they could look so glamorous or sexy. Boudoir implies lingerie, but glamour can be as clothed as you like. There are a range of possibilities, and I will let you decide what you are comfortable with. If you feel like you can prance around in lingerie by the end, that is totally up to you, but you certainly don’t have to! Have a look at my January 2014 Facebook Page photos for example photos, or visit this link for the previous year’s shoot.

More info
For each person, the full time required will be about 90 minutes. This starts with professional makeup upon arrival, followed by the shoot. Each mini shoot lasts about 30 minutes starting from the times listed above. You will be responsible for providing your own clothes, so I suggest bringing a few options. Anything from a fancy dress to bra and underwear will suffice. Please have your hair done as this is not included in the price.
The session will take place in a professional photo studio. The location is still TBA, but it might be one in Everett that I’ve had my eye on. When I know that I can book all of my sessions, I will be able to commit to a location (the studio costs money for me, you see).
To book, just send me an email at tracie@traciehowe.com. Times will be assigned after booking because of the chance to win more time (see below), so please be flexible. You may still request a time with your inquiry, but no times will be guaranteed until after a winner is chosen. Booking early may give you priority for your time choice. I will send you more details, a form, and an invoice via PayPal, and a spot will be reserved for you upon payment.
Win extra time!
A bonus opportunity this year is an extended shoot! Please visit this Facebook post and comment by tagging 2 friends who may also be interested in the shoot for your chance to win an extra 30 minutes! This is a limited time offer, so enter now! To qualify you must book your session and be available for the 1pm time slot. Please mention that you have entered in your email! Winners will be chosen at random.

If you’ve visited my site before, you will have noticed that it looks totally different now. I’ve decided to rebrand, so I’m gradually making some big changes…
I’m updating to a sleeker, more modern website design. I am catering to a more targeted audience than before. The types of clients that I love working with: laid-back, down-to-earth, adventurous people, maybe even a little bit quirky. Fortunately for me, many of these types already find me. If it weren’t for them, I would never know who I really enjoy working with.
- I am focusing on destination weddings more this year. As many of you know, I am a little obsessed with traveling and in fact I run a travel blog on the side. I take every opportunity to travel, especially if I can combine a trip with my wedding or portrait work. This is the plan, so we’ll see how it goes! Please help me by sharing my site with friends and family getting married in another country or even another state. A referral means so much!
- I am focusing on elopements and small weddings more, including destination elopements!
- I am focusing on products and viewing sessions, as mentioned in this post.
- I am concerned with quality vs. quantity, and a greater service for my clients. A lot of time and energy has gone into finding out what will be best for my clients. I have experimented and researched, and I think I’ve finally got it down. My number one goal is to make my clients happy!
If I could do it all at once and present a slick, perfectly polished and rebranded website, then I would. Unfortunately, I can’t make the website totally unavailable while I work on it, so you will have to make do with seeing some of the old mixed with the new. I’ve got a new logo, but the wind-blown tree is still present as a watermark on most of my images. I still have some pages and links to update as well. I won’t tell you all of the things that I have to do, but I just want you to be aware that changes are being made and that’s why it doesn’t look quite like I want it to just yet. I hope you like it so far though! 🙂 I’ll still be using my old logo on business cards for the time being as well… seriously, I have so much to do!
Anyhoo, please tell me if you notice something totally wrong on the new site, or if you see any other names or contact info. I don’t want you to miss out on something because I missed updating something important!
Thanks for your support in making my business a success! And thank you for your patience while I transition to this new phase! All the best to you and yours for 2015!
Having a destination wedding in 2015?
That’s great if you are, because I’ve got an offer just for you adventurous, wanderlusting couples seeking a destination wedding photographer!

I am offering an unbeatable discount on my typical travel fees, so the cost of your wedding photography may very well beat that of any local photographers! Read on for more information about this travel discount and the complimentary service that I offer for destination weddings!
The travel fee discount
You see, I am jump-starting my wedding photography business to focus more on destination weddings. I have a travel blog so I travel often anyway. Traveling to photograph your wedding means that I can combine my two loves.
Besides, I have earned some frequent flier miles and I want to use them! This doesn’t mean that I can fly anywhere at anytime for free, but I can put my miles towards getting to your wedding! I just need a little help and I’m on my way. Your only obligation would be to pay 1/2 of the cost of a ticket and I’ll take care of my accommodations and rental car if needed. Not only that, but I am taking $200 off of whatever full length wedding package you choose!
*The Travel fee discount generally does not count towards destinations in the Continental United States and Canada, but ask and I will consider. ;)*
*This $200 discount only applies to full length weddings, but the travel discount still applies to elopements and short weddings*
OR…
Like I said, I’ve been traveling more anyway, so it’s possible that your wedding location will align with my trip plans. If that’s the case, I won’t charge you any travel fee whatsoever! I’m heading to Europe this fall, so feel free to entice me with visions of your gorgeous wedding venue and you might have yourself a serious discount!

What else? Extra photography on location, that’s what!
To kick off this promotion, I’m now offering complimentary services in the form of a before or after wedding day shoot at the destination. This is where you and your beloved have your wedding photos taken in all of the beautiful locations of the area. I will scout for ideal spots, and we will spend a few hours enjoying a relaxed photo session. You will enjoy this more than stressing and rushing on the wedding day, leaving more time for more important things. You can read all about before or after wedding day sessions here.

Just click the Contact button at the top to inquire. Be sure to include the date, location, and venue of your wedding if you know it.
I’ll then set up a Skype meeting to go over details, or we can meet in person if you’re in Seattle! I can’t wait to hear from you!

If you’re having a destination wedding, you have your reasons for going this route over a traditional wedding at home. Your destination may be your home town, it may be exotic and adventurous, it may be convenient for your family, or possibly an escape from your family! Whatever the reason, one idea is usually consistent when couples decide on a destination wedding, and that is that the place is special.
That is why I am now offering complimentary day before or day after shoots for full length destination weddings! I want to photograph you in that place because it was special enough to be chosen for your wedding! You both will get all gussied up in your wedding attire, and we will spend a few hours shooting. Allow me to spend time in advance scouting the prettiest locations around.

Another benefit of offering this is so you have more flexibility in your wedding day timeline! Sure, you’ll still need to set aside time for family and wedding party photos, but it will be a lot less time. And when things run late, your couple photo time doesn’t have to be sacrificed. In fact, you will get a ton more of it! Consider this as less potential stress that you don’t need on your wedding day. Trust me, this is a great idea!! In fact, I now offer this as an a la carte service for my Seattle area weddings.
If I haven’t convinced you yet, then just remember this… it’s free! Complimentary, that is. Take it or leave it, but I hope you’ll take it. I wouldn’t offer it for free if I didn’t think it was a good idea myself! 😉
If you have any questions, ask away!
I have had the pleasure of photographing Ben and Julie a couple times before their wedding this Summer at Golden Gardens. First at Archie McPhee’s, a quirky local novelty store, and then at the Ballard Locks with their adorable dog, Addie Mae. Consistently, through all of the shoots and the wedding, one thing was at the top of their priority list – to have fun.
It was a community effort amongst family and friends to make this DIY wedding a fun and awesome experience. I believe they succeeded, as everyone seemed to have a great time. You can’t beat a spontaneously placed wedding ceremony site at public park and a parade procession to it! Not to mention a pink wedding dress, kazoos, pinwheels, and a trivia game, just to name a few. The reception at the bathhouse was cheerfully decorated with so many colorful DIY details. Veraci Pizza prepared and baked the pizza on site, and the impressive quilt cake was carefully arranged as each small individual cake arrived.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy the photos of this lovely couple and their unique DIY Golden Gardens wedding!
