Last year it was the gingerbread house at Gasworks Park. This year, it’s still up in the air! Please read and fill out the form below to see how you can participate!

Giant gingerbread house at Gasworks park. Forced perspective.pinimage

Last year’s photo. Let’s try to beat it!

See how it was done!    https://www.traciehowe.com/giant-gingerbread-house-how-it-was-made/

Hopefully, you were a part of, or at least saw last year’s first forced perspective photo by Tracie Howe Photography. If you haven’t seen it, see the above photo and click through the link to see how it was made. It was epic! A normal sized gingerbread house brought out to Gasworks Park, and lots of volunteers in the distance. Truly a project of epic proportions for me.

This year, I want to do something to rival last year’s photo! I still want to use forced perspective to make it look like something is really big or really small, because that makes it so much more fun! I won’t tell you what my idea is just yet, because I’m not sure if I can do it without some dedicated volunteers to take on just one or a few jobs.

I have the job descriptions below. Along with your name and email address, please make a note of which job number interests you. (I had a checkbox form made up, but I’m not smart enough to figure out who checks what) Don’t worry, you don’t have to fully commit just yet. At this point I’m only trying to gauge interest. Please thoroughly read each of the descriptions, because there may be some information that strikes your fancy.

I’m so excited about this year’s project and I hope you are too! So many wonderful people volunteered their time last year, and I hope even more will this year. Please share this link with anyone you know that may be interested, as I think something like this could grow over time. It could get better and better each year with the help of amazing volunteers like you!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately, but hopefully I make it up with this awesome one! This lucky Seattle wedding photographer got to travel to Missouri to shoot a beautiful, historical, destination wedding! Missouri doesn’t seem like a destination wedding kind of place, you say? Well maybe not, but this beautiful historical farmhouse sure was a destination for lots of friends and family coming from far and wide. Officially on the National Historic Register of Historic Places, it did not disappoint! The outside was surrounded by soybean fields and painstakingly decorated during the Midwest heat. The inside was quaint and charming; a perfect setting for photos!
Not only was the setting beautiful, but Emily, the bride who’s family owns the farm, was gorgeous. She had a genuine shining smile all day long. And her groom couldn’t have been happier to make her his bride. Photographing such a sweet couple is always a pleasure for me. And they know how to throw a party! This wedding was complete with a high-fiving cake topper, stick-on mustaches, more conga lines than I’ve ever seen in one night, a cap-gun send off, and a marching band (although that was a surprise for the couple)! Oh, and an adorable little ring-bearer who I swear was channeling Michael Jackson with his serious moves. Such a fun night with a fun couple.

    Catherine McAdams - Tracie,
We feel very honored and SO LUCKY that you flew all the way to our Missouri farm to shoot our daughter’s wedding! Your photos are absolutely amazing! We couldn’t be happier! You were so calm, composed, ALWAYS pleasant and accommodating throughout the entire afternoon and evening. VERY professional. You covered every detail with so much going on. We are truly grateful!! We worked extremely hard all summer to create a beautiful farm wedding with a touch of elegance but your photos capture the magic..and the dreams… that happened that evening… a true fairy tale wedding beyond our wildest dreams!!! We are touched by your beautifully written, heartfelt introduction and artistic collage of photos. We love you Tracie and give you

traciehowe - Mary, I couldn’t think of a funny quote to respond with, but here’s a sentimental one by Bon Jovi: “If you could see yourself like others do, you’d wish you were as beautiful as you”. In every way! I could never have done ANY of it without you.ReplyCancel

Nathan must be the sweetest husband! He and his new wife flew out from Texas for a little get away, and he surprised her with a photo session to remember their trip by! How awesome is that?! We agreed that Pike Place Market would be a good place for them to visit, but also a suitable location for their vibrant personalities. We had a good ‘ol time exploring the market, and I surprised them with some Bubblicious  and a visit to the gum wall.

Maria and Lauren agreed that the Seattle waterfront was an awesome place for their couple’s photo session. The Seattle Great Wheel is such a cool new addition to Seattle’s already gorgeous waterfront, and to celebrate it’s arrival, I suggested a carnival theme, complete with popcorn and a balloon animal that I made myself! They were all for the theme and Maria even had a dress that I thought was well suited for the theme.

We started out at the indoor carousel at Pier 57. If an attendant ever showed up, we may have gotten some moving carousel shots, but no luck. It was crowded and tight in there anyway. :/

Then we headed outside where it was much cooler and the light was not red. 🙂

Our very own ferris wheel! I love Seattle even more now!

I think they especially enjoyed making a feast for the seagulls with the popcorn.

Did you know those yellow chairs are bolted down? Sad, but true.

Such a cool shoot! Thanks, Lauren and Maria, for letting me capture your fun personalities and your love! 🙂

By the way, I try not to mix politics with business, but I hate to see lovely ladies like these, or anyone else deprived of a happy life together. Approve Referendum 74 please! 🙂

Red - lovely photos! the last one in particular made me cry.ReplyCancel

It’s senior portrait time, so I figured this was the perfect time to share some high school senior super candids.

I recently did a double senior photo session with two friends at my new favorite place in the Seattle Arboretum. They took turns getting their pictures taken, but wanted one together. I don’t remember who’s idea it was to climb on the branch for the photo, but I’m sure glad it happened! Rather, I’m sure glad I documented at least one of them trying to get onto the branch. Thank goodness mom was there for a boost. 🙂

I love how everyone was cracking up!

The other senior portrait super candid wasn’t exactly a double session, but more like a girlfriend dragging her boyfriend in for a few shots together. He wasn’t exactly prepared for that, and was a little embarrassed.

However, he came around eventually. Gotta make your lady happy! 🙂
