Wedding guests sometimes surprise me. They will catch me off guard when I’m not expecting anything special to happen, and do something funny, crazy, or just plain awesome. Fortunately, if I’m not expecting those moments, at least I’m ready for them.

Surprise pose! I was trying to get a sneaky candid of these two guests and he just jumped out at me. I love it!

Ah!!! What is he doing with that?! I don’t remember what he intended to do, but I happened to catch this moment just as he looked the most threatening. Sometimes the timing is just priceless!

My very favorite mom candid is this dance/ strip(?) move, followed by a hysterical reaction to her own silliness! I got half a dozen shots of just her reaction. She’s pretty awesome!

I will probably do another similar post in the future, since I’ve had a fair share of surprising guest candids. So stay tuned! ๐Ÿ™‚

Carolyn - Tracie, your work is beautiful and your photographs are perfect!ReplyCancel

I’ve been extra busy lately! Way behind on my shoot posts, but I’m loving the short, super-candid posts that seem to be more manageable for my schedule… albeit sometimes a little late.

This week I want to share some candids from this quirky couple that I adore from a past wedding. There are so many lovely photos from their wedding, but I also caught some pretty goofy ones that truly capture their fun personalities.

Somehow she ย still manages to look adorable when she is disgusted by her beer.

Checking on the progress of the procession, without revealing herself. I pretty sure I end up in awkward positions like this when I’m taking pictures.

They’re not all silliness though. Here’s a nice, intimate moment caught from afar. So sweet!

I adore Mary and Rini, and I had the best time with them during their engagement shoot. They had recently moved to Seattle and Mary wanted a jumping high-five shot, probably to signify a job well done in making the move. I was all for the cheesyness of it, but it didn’t really happen. Serious high-five fail!

Fortunately, they did manage to come together and make this jumping shot happen. Perfectly in sync! Better to keep those hands in the pockets I guess. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you’re okay smooching in front of the inevitable crowds that congregate at Kerry Park, then there is no more iconic place to have an engagement session in Seattle! Perched just at the right spot on Queen Anne hill, this park has the best view of the Space Needle, a cluster of other skyscrapers, and Mount Rainier on clear days!

For Kiara and William, a Kerry Park engagement session was a no brainer. Not only is the background spectacular, but they also got engaged here!

These guys are hilarious! They kept laughing and smiling all the time, because they just couldn’t help it. I love that kind of photo shoot! So fun!

    Geneva - Good Morning,

My husband and I are beginning a tradition by traveling somewhere new on our wedding anniversary and getting photos done in that city.

I was looking for an “engagement” type session with iconic spots in Seattle. Are you available April 19? Also, I was wondering about your prices/packages.

    Thank you in advance.

You must love dogs to fully appreciate this week’s super candid moments. I’ve got several dog photos from weddings and other photo sessions to share. One wedding in particular was chock-full of dogs and provided great candids. Enjoy!
