Following my last post of “best of portraits” is MY personalΒ  best of Seattle weddings shots of 2013. I didn’t really do any destination weddings this year, and I actually stayed pretty close to home for every single one, with the exception of a friend’s wedding. So, every one of these is strictly my best photography of Seattle weddings, aside from the one. I photographed part of that one in Virginia, but I love that shot with her mom, so I had to include it. Anyway, as much as I enjoy photographing destination weddings, or San Juan Islands weddings, it was a nice change of pace to drive only a few minutes to reach each one near downtown Seattle.

I include engagements in this best of list, because I consider them to be the extended version of a wedding story. I also LOVE many of my engagements from last year and want to share them again. Some of which I haven’t shared anywhere yet.

Again, it was very difficult to narrow down my favorites to a reasonable amount, while trying not to include too many from one wedding or engagement session. However, given the variety of some weddings and engagements, there were just too many good ones. Anyway, I’ll let you see them for yourselves, in no particular order (in fact, in a very random order). It was a really great year! Let’s hope for another one!

Well, I’m a little late to the 2013 recap train, but here we go. I’m not as drenched in the portrait world as I am with weddings, but I do advertise myself as a Seattle portrait photographer as well. This post is of MY favorite portraits of 2013, or a best of list. It may not be many, but I adore the ones that I’ve posted. I don’t have much to say, as the photos hopefully speak for themselves, and of course each one has it’s own unique story.

I should say that 2013 was a really great year for me. In fact, it was so good that choosing just a few for this post was SO hard! I tried to select only one from any given session, but there are just some sessions that have enough variety to make me break my own rule.Β  Anyway, here’s to a wonderful 2014!

The weather had been tolerable with the sun peaking out most days, and the leaves were almost done turning colors by the time I got to shoot at Woodland Park this Fall. That is, the park, not the zoo. I was thrilled that Angelica and her family were willing to meet me there, since I had some nice spots in mind. I was even happier when her adorable twin girls popped out of the car with their colorful clothes to match their colorful personalities.

We all had fun that day, despite battling the wind, some lingering colds, and even the longest tightrope I’ve ever seen stretched across most of my preferred background! See for yourself!

I have had the pleasure of working with Clarissa three times this year, and two of those times were family photo sessions with her husband and kids. I enjoyed a cherry blossom shoot with the family last Spring, and this Fall they took advantage of my mini sessions. I even made some very cute Christmas Cards for them from the Fall photos. I love it when people keep coming back for my photography!

Anyway, I figured I was well overdue in posting about their family’s Spring photo session, so I decided to add on the Fall session too. I hope you enjoy the photos. I have so much fun with this family!

Last Saturday was considered Small Business Saturday, and to celebrate, I’m Β inviting you to enter my giveaway! Even just entering can help support my small business along with a few others that I’ve selected in the Seattle area. Shop small, shop local!! Maybe you went a little too crazy on Black Friday, and maybe you wish you had taken advantage of some sales. Either way, here is a free chance to get something really amazing without too much fuss!

This contest is my way of introducing my soon-to-be new packagesΒ with an emphasis on products instead of digital files. I know of countless people who let their digital photos sit on a disc forever and do nothing with them. I strongly believe that the best way to cherish your memories is to produce a quality product for display on your walls. A high-quality piece of art like this will last forever and can be passed down through generations. Can you imagine doing that and having the same effect with a disc of files? So, I hope you will join me and many other photographers in our efforts to fully appreciate those special moments that you’ve paid good money to be artfully captured.

Now, onto this contest of mine…

What you can win:

If you are not a past client, you can win a portrait session and a $350 credit towards any new package that I will soon be offering, which can include cool wall art like you see in the photo above! See packagesΒ hereΒ for more info. This is a $550 value! Woohoo!

OR

If you are a past client (wedding or otherwise), you can choose between the prize listed above OR a $425 credit towards any new package only to be used with previous session’s photos.

How you can win:

A winner will be selected randomly, but you can increase your odds of winning with points!

1.Β a Rafflecopter giveawayΒ <—-click this link for the fast and easy way to enter.Β Help support some of my favorite local business while you’re at it! πŸ™‚

2. This will get you the most points in one go, but it is not required: Take a snapshot of anΒ emptyΒ wall where you might want to display some photos. Β This will earn you 4 points. The bigger the photo, the better! Send ’em my way: tracie@traciehowe.com

3. Okay, this won’t earn you any points, but it would be awesome if you shared this contest with your friends and family. If not for my prize, then at least to spread a little local love on Small Business Saturday. My participating vendors are awesome and could be just what you’re looking for. My chosen local businesses are: Brittany Hunt DesignΒ , Fantazmal CakesΒ , Urbanista WeddingsΒ ,Β MuseΒ EventΒ PlanningΒ andΒ Production,Β LLCΒ , and Fun Frames Photo Booth.
