I don’t blog ever single wedding or photo shoot that I do. I don’t have time to, but mostly, not everything I’m hired for is visually appealing enough for the blog. I’m all about the locations, especially for weddings.
That’s why I wanted to show off a few highlights from this short Seattle wedding from the beautiful Queen Anne neighborhood. Merica and Kevin had their first look and couple’s photos on windy winter’s day at Queen Anne’s famous Kerry Park. They braved the cold, tumultuous winds for that epic Seattle background. After a little time there, we headed to the Parson’s Gardens down the street to continue without being battered by the chilling air.
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at St. Paul’s Episcopal church at the bottom of Queen Anne hill. This was my first Catholic ceremony, and it was fascinating to note the differences between this one and some of the less traditional wedding ceremonies that I often photograph. There are such grand entrances and fascinating rituals to witness.
As mentioned, I was hired for a “short wedding”, which in this case meant that I only photographed part of the wedding. After the ceremony I headed down to the reception for a few quick photos before heading out. Guests were left with the duty of capturing reception candids on the polaroid cameras the couple rented. A swell idea if you ask me! 🙂
